And He [the LORD] said, "My presence shall go with you, and I will give you rest." Then he [Moses] said to Him, "If Your presence does not go with us, do not lead us up from here. - Exodus 33:14-15

We are AFLC missionaries (AFLC=Association of Free Lutheran Congregations) on loan to East European Missions Network. We were commissioned at the 2006 AFLC Annual Conference. From June to December 2006 we traveled and visited churches to share our vision for the ministry in Ukraine. In January 2007 we spent a whole month at a mission training in Colorado Springs, CO. In February we packed, said our good-byes and got ready to leave for Ukraine. We left on March 6th!

It seems like this is a very exciting time for Ukraine spiritually. It is said that of all the Eastern European countries, Ukraine is the most receptive to the gospel right now. Tomasz spent a month in Ukraine in summer 2004 and worked with the German Lutheran Church there, helping with summer camps. Tomasz saw a big need specifically for youth ministry in this church body. He was also asked many times by many different people to come and help. Our vision is to equip young leaders to fulfill Christ’s commission by making disciples who then again make disciples. In the future, we would love to see young Ukrainian leaders be able to do youth ministry without outside help. Our heart is to invest time and energy in young Ukrainians, helping them grow and mature spiritually and train them to be leaders following Christ’s example.
